Case of self-propelled and autonomous robotic scrubber-dryers
Of course, in the case of ride-on machines (ride-on scrubbers) or robotic machines, the battery is essential. You will never see this type of machine with cable power supplies.
New generation Numatic NX1K and NX300 Lithium batteries
Numatic, like Nilfisk and Taski, now equips all its new compact scrubber-dryers and even ride-on models with lithium batteries , which offer numerous advantages and thus reduce the disadvantage of old lead or gel batteries compared to cable models.
These new batteries bring fast charging , longer life and flexible power thanks to their modular aspect.
The NX1K battery , featured in particular on ride-on scrubber dryers , brings the latest Lithium technology to the battery-powered scrubber dryer range, offering more autonomy with faster and more flexible charging and long-lasting power with the same professional results and reliability. 4x longer life than lead-acid batteries. Advanced and safe lithium-phosphate technology with 4000 charge cycles.
Battery Types and Power
Currently, a large number of scrubber dryers are designed and supplied with gel batteries, which are maintenance-free. However, you should be careful because there are also conventional lead-acid batteries, which are cheaper to purchase but require tedious daily maintenance.
On some scrubber dryers, it is also possible to choose the power and therefore the battery life. You will then need to check the amperage in Ampere Hours (Ah). The voltage can be 12 or 24 volts.
Case of Li-Ion lithium batteries: These batteries are subject to specific storage and transport conditions.
Li-Ion battery, one battery for several machines
The advantage of the new generation of Li-Ion batteries is their reduced size, making it possible to offer compact and autonomous scrubber dryers such as the Taski Swingo 150 or the Numatic 244NX.
The battery used in the Taski range is compatible with several devices, including the Taski Aero BP backpack vacuum cleaner range, the Swingo 150, and the Taski Aero UP. A single battery model can be used on a wide range of equipment to simplify fleet management.
Maintenance and recommendations on battery use.
Taski scrubber dryers are supplied without batteries, and some without chargers. These options should therefore be considered separately.
Nilfisk floor scrubbers are available as a pack with battery and on-board charger.
The entire range of current Numatic battery-powered scrubber dryers is equipped as standard with maintenance-free gel batteries to ensure the highest possible level of safety and convenience.
Quality batteries and a suitable charger are components that will determine the lifespan of your equipment.
But understanding the rules for using and storing batteries allows you to optimize and extend the performance of your machine.
Tips on using batteries
1 - Never leave your machine unloaded.
2 - Fully recharge the batteries after each use, regardless of the length of time the machine is used.
3 - If the machine is not to be used for a period of 30 days or more , isolate the batteries by removing the fuses or disconnecting them.
4 - During prolonged storage periods, recharge the batteries every 3 months (*) and the day before putting the machine back into service. (*) The fuses will be replaced during charging.
Special case of Li-Ion batteries
Storage of Li-Ion batteries requires special attention.
Li-Ion batteries should be stored in a protected, dry area, away from any direct heat source and away from sunlight.
It is best not to exceed 35°C. In any case, the storage temperature should never exceed 50°C.
Li-Ion batteries must be stored away from accidental shock, which could cause fires with serious consequences.
