The discs for single-brush or scrubber are mainly characterized by two data that are: the diameter of the disc expressed in mm and its color. The choice of the diameter of the single-disc disc is directly made according to the diameter of the tray of your single-disc or scrubber. As a rule, standard single disc machines use 406 or 432 mm discs. The color when it will be determined according to the work to be done and the surface.
The color of the scrubber single disc
The choice of the disc color is directly related to the work to be done. The disc color code usually assumes that the darkest (black) is the most abrasive disc and the lightest disc colors (white) are the softest discs.
Disc colors are often associated with machine rotation speeds and it is imperative to combine the correct disc color with the correct speed of rotation as this can damage the machine and the floor to be treated. Example if a pickling disk is used on a high speed machine.
The most common colors are organized as follows.
Black disk
Disk reserved for stripping. It is imperative on this type of process disk to have a prior test. Rotation speed less than 250 rpm.
Brown disc
Disc is used for stripping on linoleum and plastic floor. It is also used for reclamation operations. Rotation speed less than 250 rpm.
Green disk
This disc is used for washing, scouring and light stripping operations. He removes the big marks. Wet use on all types of soil. Rotation speed less than 250 rpm.
Red disk
This disc is used for cleaning in
spray method . Removes light shoe type marks. Any type of soil. produces a brilliant effect with the use of a spray spray product. Rotation speed less than 600 rpm.
White disk
The white disc is a polishing disc for a flawless finish. Can be used dry or by spraying on clean ground. Allows to obtain a Wet look. Any type of soil. Rotation speed less than 600 rpm.
This is called
a buffing disc .
There are also specific discs such as discs for parquet floors, steel wool discs for crystallization, discs for carpets, microfiber discs, etc.
The size of the single-disc disc
There are multitudes of disk dimensions depending on the machine types.
The most common sizes for
Single Spindles are 406 mm or 432 mm for standard machines. The size in 505 is rather reserved in the context of the
buffing machines Ultra High Speed polishers . The 505 is also a common dimension for large width scrubbers.
The smallest dimension available is 111 mm and the largest is 711 mm.
Here is the approximate list of dimensions + -3mm existing on the market.
Maintenance and use of the disc
A single-disc or scrubber disc is washed after each use, either with a jet or with large water. The purpose of this cleaning is to remove from the disc all the particles of wax, strippers, etc. that could alter the qualities of the work done.
