Because cellulose wadding can be recycled up to 7 times , Lucart decided to implement a strategy that takes into account the fact that there is no need to cut down trees to make hand towels , toilet paper and other single-use products. In 1996, Lucart was the first Italian paper group to launch a complete range of 100% recycled Ecolabel paper. Today, with more than 160 Ecolabel and food contact references, Lucart Group is recognized in Europe for its environmental policy and its commitment to waste recovery. Lucart Group is also behind one of the most beautiful innovations of the last 5 years by offering a new generation of 100% recycled paper, made from the recycling of food cartons: the Lucart Eco Natural range.
The Lucart Eco Natural range is based on an innovative manufacturing process which allows the recovery of cellulose fibres contained in used food cartons. Lucart Group, through a chemical-free mechanical process, will separate the paper from the polyethylene/aluminium compound, allowing the recycling of the paper and the revaluation of the plastic/aluminium as a raw material for other industries. We transform waste into two raw materials. The cellulose fibres that make up the cardboard of the food carton are chosen for their superior quality, which gives Lucart Eco Natural recycled paper performances equivalent to pure wadding, at the price of recycled paper.
