Alsace is a cradle of historic French industry.
Whether in metallurgy or in textiles, industrial developments and revolutions have sacrificed whole sections of this know-how and knowledge.
The current Covid19 crisis and our glaring dependence on relocated and more particularly Asian manufacturing have highlighted our lack of total autonomy and enslavement in economic terms.
| It is with the convergence of its two findings that Pôle Textile Alsace, its President Benoit Basier and its teams that the project to relaunch the industry through the manufacture in France of class II and class I public masks has therefore logically emerged. Voussert was naturally part of this project from the beginning of the course in order to bring its expertise in distribution through efficient and reliable logistics. This is how Voussert and Barral have joined forces to offer a 100% French solution . All of Voussert's structures and teams are in fact also exclusively in France with a Logistics Pole in the West IDF (78) and a commercial and administrative pole in PACA near Toulon (83). |
It is therefore in this territory where so many companies have been decimated by foreign competition that
this new company was born with a
century-old know-how in textiles and in the mastery of industrial tools. Barral masks are made from
non-woven which represents a clear advantage of being a material known and mastered in the world of hygiene. It is therefore not made of fabric which can in some cases have its limitations in terms of use (high heat).
Two models of masks manufactured but Evolon® as a constant The masks manufactured successively within Pôle Textile Alsace and now Barral use Evolon® from Freudenberg as a material. Evolon® is a non-woven material.
Evolon® textiles are the result of a unique textile manufacturing process, invented by Freudenberg.
Bi-component filaments of infinite length are extruded, uniformly arranged, then simultaneously burst into microfilaments and consolidated into fabric using very high pressure water jets.
No solvents or chemical binders are used.
What advantage does the Evolon mask have over a fabric mask? First of all the lightness and the "ease" of breathing compared to certain fabric masks. This observation is all the more reinforced in hot weather.
The first mask developed by PTA which originally had been validated in category 2 is now validated in category 1 (new classification since May 25, 2020) is made of
