What solution for cleaning windows
A window cleaning professional has time constraints and security access constraints that domestic users do not have.
Therefore, the choice of quality and suitable equipment will make it possible to obtain intervention efficiency and this in complete safety, particularly when working at height.
Window cleaning tools
The historical tool used for window cleaning is
the window squeegee . It is a piece of equipment that may seem simple and quite basic, but there are nevertheless major technical differences between the models available on the market.
First of all you will need to choose the width of the squeegee which ranges from 25 cm wide up to 105 cm. The two sizes most used professionally are the width 35 cm and 45 cm which alone represent more than 90% of use.
There are several types of squeegees and we can differentiate for example:
- Unger Ergotec Ninja squeegee which has a Triloc mechanism for good fixation of the bar as well as a pivoting squeegee head.
- S-shaped window squeegee for standard applications with the S-shaped spring allowing the
squeegee bar to be changed and locked quickly.
- Unger Ergotec raclette which is the Unger classic with a design and ergonomics adapted to all situations
The other component of the squeegee is the nature of the
squeegee rubber chosen which depending on the condition of the surface and the external conditions will not be the same.
There are in fact two hardnesses of rubber (soft or hard).
The other additional tool is the
window washer which will allow you to spread the water + soap solution on the surface and thus degrease the surface.
The last element that can prove useful for safe access to heights is of course
telescopic poles .
There are several systems, notably at Unger with the Optiloc, Teleplus and Unitec systems.
9 heights are available up to 10 meters range while remaining safely on the ground.
Pure water cleaning, the professional solution
In recent years, a solution has appeared for cleaning windows but also solar panels or washable surfaces such as cladding using pure water, the benefit of which is to leave no trace and eliminate the "scraping" action and wiping.
In fact, cleaning with a squeegee is not always possible due to access problems or the surfaces to be treated...
If you have a field of solar panels of several hundred (or even thousands) of m2, it is impossible to treat with a classic squeegee solution!
Same thing for cleaning large exterior glass surfaces.
In this case the
pure water cleaning kit is perfectly suited.
These kits offer poles with suitable heights and rigidities, water softeners (to have lime-free and therefore trace-free water) and brushes adapted to the surface.
