Dishwasher descaler the method
Acidic product so use with caution
A dishwasher descaler is above all a product composed of acid. As a result, descalers are corrosive and dangerous products to use. They therefore require protecting the agents who are responsible for descaling dishwashers, cleaning units and small equipment using gloves, protective masks and glasses.
Softened water supply or not to your dishwasher
A dishwasher is very often supplied with softened water via an upstream softener or a general softener. As a result, the quantity of limestone contained in the water is less but not zero. In fact, the residual tH degrees are often between 7 and 12° while it can be above 30° before being softened.
As a result, there is limescale which will therefore settle under the effect of the temperature on the walls, the injectors, etc. of the machine but also on the dishes.
It is therefore necessary to descale the equipment on a regular basis in order to preserve it and maintain the operating quality of the dishwasher.
My dishes are dull and white
Very often users complain of deteriorating washing quality but it is quite simply the maintenance of the machine that is not carried out correctly.
The dishes will also tarnish with the succession of times they are put through the machine and the glasses in particular will become more opaque.
It is therefore also necessary to regularly descale the dishes by soaking them in a sink or directly by putting the baskets of dishes in the dishwasher where the descaler will have previously been poured into the washing tank.
The usage protocol
If the dishwasher is equipped with a detergent dispenser, this dispenser must obviously be turned off when filling in order to avoid mixing the detergent (alkaline) with the descaling product (acid). This would indeed have a contradictory action.
Once the dispenser is off (the indicator light must be off), you can fill the dishwasher with water. Then manually add the liquid or powder descaler, respecting the dosages indicated.
Then run your machine for a few cycles so that all of the solution circulates in the arms and components of the machine.
You can take the opportunity to pass baskets of glassware or other kitchen utensils not sensitive to acid (do not use aluminum) in order to descale them too.
Then proceed to drain your machine.
Turn the wall dispenser back on. Start filling the machine again. You can then pass the baskets of previously descaled dishes to rinse them definitively.
Dishwasher descaler but not only that!
A dishwasher descaler can sometimes have related functions such as descale your
hotel room kettles , descale kitchen utensils by soaking, diluted it can also remove the limescale film on certain surfaces (test before)...
