How a Li Ion Lithium Battery Works

A Li-Ion (lithium-ion) battery is a type of rechargeable battery used in many electronic devices, such as smartphones, laptops, tablets, and digital cameras.
This type of battery has made its way into the world of cleaning equipment through vacuum cleaners, scrubber-dryers , etc.
Unlike traditional lead-acid or gel batteries, Li-Ion batteries use lithium to store electrical energy . Lithium ions move from anode to cathode during charging and discharging, producing electrical voltage. The electrolytes used in Li-Ion batteries are generally lithium salts dissolved in an organic solvent.
Li-Ion batteries have a higher energy density than other types of rechargeable batteries, which means they can store more energy in a smaller space.
They also have low self-discharge, which means they can hold their charge for longer periods of time without discharging.
However, Li-Ion batteries require charge and discharge management to prevent overcharging, overheating, and deep discharge, all of which can affect battery life and safety. Additionally, Li-Ion batteries can lose their energy storage capacity over time, even when not in use.

Storage Condition
Lithium batteries are flammable products which must be stored and transported under specific safety conditions.
Thus a Lithium battery is classified with a UN3480 code which requires transport with ADR classification.
