Gel or lithium, what are the differences and how to choose?
A gel battery uses a solid, silica-based electrolyte that immobilizes the internal liquid. It is shock and leak resistant, offers a long lifespan, and withstands deep charge/discharge cycles well, all at a more affordable price. A Li-Ion (lithium) battery works differently: lithium ions circulate between the anode and cathode, giving it a higher energy density (longer runtime for the same weight), faster charging, a lifespan up to four times longer, and very low self-discharge. However, this comes at the cost of a higher initial investment and specific storage and transport requirements (see below). In short: gel batteries are suitable for regular use with a controlled budget, while lithium batteries are ideal for high-volume fleets requiring extended runtime and longevity. However, it requires a specific charger for optimal maintenance.

Regular charging to avoid deep discharge, cleaning of terminals with a wire brush, checking the water level (demineralized water) for open lead-acid models, storing in a cool, dry place, fully charged battery.
How does a Li-Ion (lithium) battery work?
A Li-Ion battery uses lithium ions circulating between the anode and cathode to produce an electrical voltage, via lithium salts dissolved in an organic solvent. It requires precise management of charging and discharging to avoid overcharging, overheating, and loss of capacity over time.
