How does a gel battery work?

A gel battery is a type of rechargeable battery, also known as a sealed gel battery . It uses a gel electrolyte, which is a solid, thick silica-based material that immobilizes the liquid electrolyte in the battery.
This design helps keep the electrolyte in place , even if the battery is shocked or tipped, making it safer and more leak-resistant than conventional lead-acid batteries.
Gel batteries are often used in applications where reliable, long-lasting batteries are required. This is why we often find them in batteries used for scrubber dryers .
They also have a longer lifespan than traditional lead-acid batteries which are no longer offered on scrubber dryers and cleaning equipment, with increased resistance to charge and deep discharge cycles .
However, they tend to be more expensive than lead-acid batteries and may require a specific charger to maintain them.
