IP 54 standard wet area what does it cover?

The IP standard is characterized by two numbers which are: protection against solid bodies for the first number and protection against liquids for the second number.

An insect killer that complies with the IP54 standard will be protected against dust on the one hand and against splashing water . This does not mean that it can be washed with plenty of water. It can therefore be used without worries in a very humid environment.
It is for this reason that if you are looking for a wet area insect killer, the IP54 standard will be sufficient.

For total protection, it will then be necessary to opt for an IP65 insect destroyer which allows jet washing .
This is of significant interest in the kitchen area where cleaning and disinfection solutions can be found using a washing and disinfection station or central washing station .
Indeed, in this specific case, the IP65 standard allows in case of direction of the jet towards the destructor to avoid any risk.
This does not mean total immersion of the device which is covered by the IP68 standard but which remains a rare excessive case.

IP54 single grid or glue shredder

You can have the IP54 standard on standard single grid models but also on glue models. As the insects are totally retained by the glue, the glue destroyer is recommended for so-called sensitive areas such as kitchens, food shops.
Indeed, the presence of the glue board avoids projections and thus recovers in a completely hygienic way the insects struck down.
