The safety of our rolling garbage containers dedicated to the city which allow waste collection is controlled in reference to standards NF EN-840 1 to 6. Points 1 to 4 concern the standards identifying the dimensional dimensions Points 5 and 5/A1 concern performance requirements and test methods. Points 6 and 6/A1 concern hygiene and safety requirements.
There are several volume standards for garbage containers. The 2-wheel container is the most common and is often made available for domestic use by cities or household waste collection companies. The volumes are 80, 90 liters, 120 liters, 240 liters and 340 liters. The most common garbage container, especially for the general public in domestic use, is the 240 liters which corresponds to the average volume. The other standard is the 4-wheel garbage container 660 liters, 770 liters and 1000 liters. It is of course the quantity of waste and the available space that will determine the size of your garbage container. Sizes from 90 to 340 liters are often used for individuals, small businesses or building management companies. Sizes over 600 liters are generally aimed at large communities, industries, etc. The different volumes of garbage containers
80 and 120 litre waste container: Ideal for small households or offices. 240 and 340 litre waste container: Perfect for medium-sized families or small businesses. 660 litre garbage container: Often used in communities and businesses. 770 litre waste container: Designed for large quantities of waste 1000 litre garbage container: Industries and large communities
There are different types of sockets for rolling containers. The type of front or belly bar grip is directly related to the collection method in place in your municipality. You must confirm which type of grip is required or accepted before choosing your garbage container.
In this case, the ventral grip with the AFNOR ventral bar is not an obligation and remains dependent on the obligation or not of the collection organization. Otherwise, in most cases, the standard version with direct grip of the container is sufficient. Protective covers are available to avoid tedious cleaning of containers. These covers are often called container garbage bags by abuse of language but their function is indeed that of a cover to protect the container and avoid tedious cleaning.
In the case of 4-wheel containers, the volume and weight being greater, there are two sockets. Emptying by the DIN pins and we then speak of a side socket which is standard on all our 4-wheel models. Emptying by ventral socket using the AFNOR metal ventral bar which remains an option and which is directly dependent on the waste collection organization.
The garbage container is equipped with a colored lid allowing for selective sorting of waste. Standard colors are dark gray/green/yellow and blue cover. We can manufacture covers in any colour on request from 40 units on quote. Yellow color is generally dedicated to plastic and metal waste. Blue color in cardboard paper Green color for glass or metal type waste There are many other colours but then these three colours are the 3 main flows that we find in most municipalities or communities of municipalities. The lid, beyond the color, can be fitted with a specific opening (bottle, paper, etc.) to emphasize the notion of sorting.
Garbage containers are usually made of plastic (HDPE) or metal. Each has its advantages, although the most common is of course plastic. Rossignol containers are made of UV-resistant HDPE, which is the point that can cause breakages over time on the tank or lid. Plastic: Lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and often less expensive. They are ideal for domestic use but also in communities or industry as long as you opt for a higher quality plastic like Voussert offers in its wide range. Metal: More robust, they are suitable for heavy waste or in difficult environments. They are not very widespread because they are more expensive and require more maintenance. Resistance to climatic conditions Containers must be able to withstand the elements. Voussert containers are made of high-density plastic (HDPE) and are often treated to resist UV rays and extreme temperatures, ensuring increased longevity.
