What does NF EN-840 standard 1 to 6 mean?

The safety of our waste containers is checked with reference to standards NF EN-840 1 to 6. Points 1 to 4 concern the standards identifying the dimensional dimensions
Points 5 and 5 / A1 relate to performance requirements and test methods.
Items 6 and 6 / A1 relate to health and safety requirements.

Volume of the container of the waste container

There are several standards in 2 wheels that are 90 liters, 120 liters, 240 liters and 340 liters and 4 wheels 660 liters, 770 liters and 1000 liters. It's about the amount of waste and the available footprint that will determine the size of your container.
Sizes from 90 to 340 liters are often used for individuals, small businesses or building trustees.
Sizes of more than 600 liters are usually oriented to large communities, industries, etc.

Type of catch of the waste container

There are different types of receptacles for waste containers (ventral or frontal). It is then necessary to distinguish 2 wheels and 4 wheels.

2 wheel waste container

In this case the ventral catch with the AFNOR ventral bar is not an obligation and remains dependent on the obligation or not of the collection agency. Otherwise in most cases the standard version with direct connection of the container is sufficient.
Protective covers are available to avoid a tedious washing of the containers.

4 wheel waste container

In the case of 4-wheel containers, the volume and the weight being larger there are two outlets. Emptying by the DIN trunnions and this is called lateral grip which is standard on all of our 4-wheel models. Vaccination by ventral grip using the AFNOR metal ventral bar which remains an option and is directly dependent on the organization of garbage collection.
