What does the law specify?
The anti-tobacco law article L3511-7 of 2008: ban on smoking in all public places.
As a result, it appeared that smokers go outdoors or in rooms specially dedicated to smoking.
It has therefore become essential, in order to avoid tedious collection of cigarette butts, fire risks and a degraded image of the surrounding area, to install ashtrays.

Wall ashtray material, design and capacity

The choice of ashtray will initially be guided by the volume that you wish to make available to users. Capacity ranges from 0.5 liters to 6 liters.
you must then take into account whether the ashtray will be placed indoors or outdoors. In the case of outdoor positioning it is imperative that it is designed for.
The most common treatment is the use of powder-coated steel:
It is then necessary to distinguish two types of surface treatment:
- Epoxy / polyester powder: this coating is applied for interior and hygiene products because it has very good resistance to chemicals and corrosion.
- Polyester powder: after being powdered, the product is put in the oven to allow the
polymerization (thickness: 60 microns). This coating is applied for outdoor products because it has very good resistance to corrosion, impact and light (UV).
Aluminum ashtray: Brushing - Mechanical surface treatment applied to the metal to give it a brushed and no longer shiny appearance.
