EVA, reinforced PVC or polyurethane: which material for which use?
The tapered EVA hose is the most flexible and least expensive: ideal for standard office applications where flexibility is more important than mechanical strength. The PVC hose reinforced with a steel spiral is significantly more resistant to crushing and abrasion: recommended for industrial settings, workshops, and construction sites. The polyurethane hose falls between the two, offering excellent durability. For wet/dry vacuums, choose a reinforced EVA hose or a solvent-resistant PU hose.
Compatibility by brand and model
Numatic Henry, Hetty, NVR, NVH, NQS: 32 mm diameter. RSV back-mounted models: 32 mm short diameter. Nilfisk GD930: flexible tapered hose with integrated plug. Nilfisk GM 80: 2 m tapered EVA hose with steel or plastic tube. Taski Vento 8/15 and Aero: 32 mm diameter. Taski Vacumat 44T: 38 mm diameter. Always check the diameter and type of connection (clip, bayonet, screw-on) before ordering.
Can a compatible hose be used instead of an original hose?
Yes, in most cases. Certified compatible hoses (CE marked, pressure and diameter markings) offer equivalent quality for 25 to 40% less money. They are perfect for vacuum cleaners out of warranty or undergoing routine maintenance. For a vacuum cleaner under recent manufacturer's warranty, it's best to use original parts; using a non-original part can void the warranty on high-end models. Note that flexible hoses are considered "wear parts" and are therefore not covered by the warranty.
Available lengths and custom manufacturing
Our catalog ranges from 1.5 m (Taski Aero BP) to 3 m (Numatic reinforced). Custom lengths are available upon request for fleets or specific installations (construction sites, industry). Please note that changing your hose length will reduce suction power. Just as with hydraulics, the longer the hose, the lower the suction pressure. This is precisely where a stick vacuum cleaner becomes invaluable.
Electrified flexible hose: precautions
For electrified hoses (Nilfisk GD930 with integrated power brush socket), check the supply voltage (230 V), the length of the internal cable, and the type of plug at the end. A faulty electrified hose can be replaced independently of the main cable.
