Three folding formats are compatible with all folded hand towel dispensers : the Z-fold (interlocking, 3 panels, compatible with 80% of dispensers on the market), the Tork Xpress H2 M-fold (4 panels, sheet >30 cm for more efficient drying), and the V-fold (unbound sheets, ideal for compact dispensers). For high volumes, the PeakServe Tork H5 range allows for up to 2x fewer refills. Paper hand towels can be folded in various ways, ultimately based on two parameters: the number of panels in the towel's construction and the cartridge dimensions, which ensure compatibility with specific dispenser types. A paper hand towel is characterized by its format width and also its length. The M-folded hand towel is designed in 4 panels (with a fold like the letter M) and can therefore offer a sheet length of more than 30 cm. This gives the hand towel a wide wiping area and therefore increased comfort.
At Tork, the system associated with this type of folding is the H2 system. The Tork H2 hand towel with M-fold will therefore fit in the Tork H2 dispensers but also in most compatible dispensers (accepting Z-fold for example) on the market.
V-folded sheets are never connected. This ensures that the user must remove them one by one, taking only the sheet needed. Choosing a V-fold paper towel format means that the dispenser must be perfectly suited for proper dispensing. The width of the cartridge must match the width of the dispenser, which is often different for Z-fold and M-fold paper towels. Thus, at Tork SCA the V-folding standard corresponds to H3 system distributors. Possible references are 553000, 553008, 553108, 553108; 208140. Several manufacturers offer multi-standard distributors. In this case, the width of the distributor needs to be checked.
