The advantages of aluminum
Regarding size, choose an aluminum tray that is suitable for the size and quantity of food you plan to package. It is important to ensure that the tray is large enough to hold the food without compressing it, which could compromise its quality.
A lid may be necessary and is often offered as an option. These containers can be supplied with different types of lids, such as aluminum, plastic, or cardboard. The choice of lid type depends on your needs in terms of sealing , preserving, and transporting food.
If you plan to use the aluminum tray for cooking food , make sure it is compatible with the cooking methods you plan to use, such as oven, barbecue or microwave reheating.
In all cases, the aluminum tray must guarantee perfect hygiene, ease of use and transport in order to ensure perfect food hygiene.
Aluminium: uses and precautions
Food-grade aluminum is suitable for refrigeration and freezer use, as well as conventional ovens. It is not suitable for microwave heating; for microwaves, a PP plastic or cardboard container should be used. Food contact compliance with Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 is required.
With or without a lid: compatibility
Each tray is sealed with a cardboard or aluminum lid appropriate to its size; check the reference number on the product sheet before ordering. The crimped seal ensures airtightness during transport.
Aluminum tray or plastic tray?
Aluminum is intended for cooking and oven use, while PP plastic is suitable for takeout, microwaves, and sealing. Compare with our range of disposable plastic trays and disposable gastronorm containers (internal links).
Recycling and regulations
Aluminium is infinitely recyclable. The products remain compliant with food contact regulations and follow the evolution of the AGEC law.
