Service trolley or washing trolley: what's the difference?
Even if the chassis may be common, the final configuration is different due to their intended use in maintenance missions.
The floor cleaning trolley is equipped with buckets, a mop press, and a wringing system. Its purpose is wet cleaning, disinfection, and washing of floors. It is therefore suitable for floors made of vinyl, thermoplastic, tile, etc. – in short, any washable, water-resistant flooring.
The maintenance service trolley , on the other hand, lacks a washing system: lighter and more mobile, it is designed for cleaning surfaces and collecting waste, now sorted into two or three streams, in spaces where floor washing is done only occasionally or by other equipment (floor scrubber, mop). If you are in an open-plan office or carpeted office, a floor washing system is unnecessary, and vacuuming with a cordless stick or traditional vacuum cleaner will suffice. It is the ideal general maintenance trolley for the service sector where a floor washing system is impractical.
What equipment is needed to outfit the maintenance service trolley?
Assuming you have floors to vacuum, a compact dust vacuum cleaner such as Numatic Nupro, Taski GO will be placed on the platform of the trolley.
For cleaning furniture surfaces, you will need microfiber cloths or colored wipes corresponding to the different areas to be cleaned, which you will have previously defined. For example: desk, bathroom, coffee break area, kitchen, etc.
You will need a surface disinfectant cleaner and a powerful degreasing cleaner in case of stubborn dirt.
Collection waste bags for emptying office wastebaskets (paper, cans, packaging...).
Provide consumables such as paper hand towels and toilet paper rolls for restocking the restrooms and possibly boxes of tissues to place on the desks.
Points to check before buying
Your trolley must be mobile and able to move from one floor to another. If so, check that it fits in your elevators.
Your cart must be able to move on uneven surfaces, even outdoors. In this case, check the size of the wheels and their suitability for this type of surface.
You have slopes: the total weight of your equipped and loaded trolley must be able to be moved effortlessly up the slopes present in your establishment.
