What standard applies to high-visibility trousers?

The EN ISO 20471 Class 2 standard is the mandatory reference for clothing intended for professionals exposed to road traffic or moving vehicles. It requires a minimum surface area of 0.50 m² of fluorescent material and 0.13 m² of retroreflective material per garment. For high-speed roadworks or construction sites with increased risk, Class 3 may be required by the site supervisor or the project manager.
