The legislation
Canine excrement is allowed in the gutters only, except for the parts inside the pedestrian crossings.
Any owner or owner of a dog is required to proceed immediately by any appropriate means to the collection of dog excrement.
This obligation is part of the new Penal Code (article R.632-1): "Is punished by the fine provided for the contraventions of the 2nd class filing, abandon or throw, in a public place or private, with the exception of the places designated for this purpose by the competent administrative authority, garbage, waste, materials or any other object, of whatever nature, if this deposit is not made by the person having the enjoyment of the place or with his authorization (...) ". In case of non-compliance, the offense is punishable by a 2nd class offense, the amount of which varies according to the municipality or region.
