Cardboard cup: the new marking
There is a new marking on cardboard cups following the regulations of July 3, 2021. This regulation requires the marking in particular of cardboard cups which contain plastic. In the case of the cardboard cup, it is the interior PE film allowing liquid to be transported which is concerned. In July 2024 the regulations will impose mandatory engraving marking. The signage pictogram is in the form of a logo often called "turtle logo" because the basis of this regulation aims to protect the marine environment which is the main victim of plastic waste. This logo is also called the “SUP” logo for Single use Plastic.
