Cleaning product without CLP and labor code
Under the labor code, employers are required to assess the risks to health and safety
workers for any activity likely to present a risk of exposure to dangerous chemical agents
(Article R4412-5 of decree no. 2008-244 of 07/03/2008).
Taking these risks into account has pushed employers to be
increasingly demanding about the products they buy (DUERP Single Professional Risk Assessment Document).
CLP (Classification Labelly Packaging) presentation
The CLP Regulation is the regulation on classification, labelling and packaging.
It corresponds to the implementation at European level of the United Nations Globally Harmonized System (GHS), the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals.
Its objective is to strengthen the protection of human health and the environment by harmonizing the criteria for the classification and labeling of chemical products.
The CLP Regulation applies to chemical products – including Diversey Care cleaning, maintenance and disinfection products – and replaces the current Dangerous Preparations Directive (DPD).
CLP-free products without hazard logo impact
The CLP Regulation introduces new, stricter hazard calculation rules and new labelling requirements such as:
• Pictograms
• Warning notices
• Caution (indicating a less serious danger)
• Danger (indicating a more serious danger)
• Hazard warning statements (H) and precautionary statements (P)
These statements will replace the current Risk and Safety (R&S) phrases.
• CLP labels for outer packaging
A CLP-compliant outer label is now required for any product not classified for transport.
Labels will therefore have to be redesigned and safety data sheets (SDS) updated, due to these requirements.
It is important to note that the chemical formulation of our products remains unchanged; the hazard classification may be different or more stringent depending on the outcome of the more rigorous calculation rules of this new regulation. However, we are able to guarantee that the ready-to-use solution remains as safe to use as it was previously for our end users.
In some exceptional cases, some products will be reformulated to ensure we continue to provide the safest products to our customers, without compromising the quality and performance of our cleaning solutions.
We will continue to offer a range of eco-labeled products and approved products that comply with the new regulations.
