Scrubber brush: compatibility and use

Scrubber brush compatibility

Summary

The use of abrush on an automatic scrubber is standard equipment that comes with most machines to meet the majority of cleaning tasks.
Each brand generally has its own specific locking system, which makes it virtually impossible to interchange the disc and brush accessories from one brand to another.

Brush brand compatibility for floor scrubbers

Each brand develops a range of machines with a specific locking and engagement system for the brush or disc holder. Therefore, it is essential to check the compatibility charts for the brushes and disc holders with your machine, whether it's a floor scrubber or a single-disc machine .

Nilfisk floor scrubber brush dimensions and compatibility

Nilfisk offers traditional flat round brush scrubbers but also roller brushes on models like the SC100 or the SC250.
There are 5 standard diameters in the flat brushes for Nilfisk brand scrubber dryers and single-disc machines . The dimensions are: 305 mm (12 inches), 355 mm (14 inches), 370 mm (14.5 inches), 430 mm (17 inches) and 530 mm (21 inches).
For roller brushes there are 3 lengths: 310 mm, 330 mm and 340 mm.

Nilfisk brush textures for floor scrubbers (and single-disc machines) vary to suit different floor types. Choosing the correct brush texture is crucial to avoid either failing to achieve the desired cleaning results or damaging your floor and/or machine by subjecting it to excessive torque.

The different qualities of Nilfisk brushes and their use

Nilfisk Union Mix Brush: Medium-grade natural fiber. Used for polishing protected floors with standard-speed equipment.
Nilfisk Prolite Brush: Made with soft polypropylene bristles (density .018), its construction prevents scratches on difficult floors. Ideal for general cleaning on durable and tiled surfaces. Recommended for use instead of red pads.

Nilfisk Agrilite Grit 500 Brush: Made with abrasive nylon bristles (density .18) impregnated with silicon carbide for cleaning or polishing protected surfaces, sealed cement surfaces, and other hard and resistant surfaces. Suitable for daily use. Recommended as an alternative to green or blue discs.
Nilfisk Mid Grit 240 Brush: Made with nylon bristles (density .030) impregnated with medium-sized silicon carbide particles, for general cleaning with a lighter action on sealed or non-sealed cement, stone, terrazzo, cement slabs, and other resistant and hard surfaces. Recommended for use instead of green or blue pads.
Nilfisk Midlite Grit 180 Brush: Made with nylon bristles (density .040) impregnated with medium-sized silicon carbide particles, for general cleaning of sealed or non-sealed cement, stone, terrazzo, cement slabs, and other hard, resistant surfaces. Recommended for use instead of green or blue pads.

Nilfisk Magna Grit 46 Brush: Made with nylon bristles (density .060) impregnated with very large diameter silicon carbide particles, for extremely aggressive cleaning or removing floor protection. Recommended for use instead of black pads.
