Rossignol, a century-old company
1896
Prosper-Léon Rossignol creates in the commune of Montsûrs in Mayenne an artisanal tinsmithery manufacturing milk cans and buckets and funnels.
1915
Rossignol becomes the coal bucket specialist 1947
Prosper-André Rossignol succeeded his father and took over the management of the craft business which became Rossignol SARL and whose vocation was then the manufacture of metal articles for domestic use. 1961
The company changes status and becomes Rossignol SA, industrializes to satisfy the development of leading products in the household and collective fields. Rossignol then established itself as the specialist in pedal bins and cabinets for household equipment. 1976
Construction of a 22,000 m² warehouse in Brée 1988
Rossignol sets up a thermoforming unit in Brée for the production of bathroom items (bathtubs and shower trays) and polyester concrete for the production of worktops. 1992
The diversification of 1988, which Rossignol failed to master, generated heavy losses for the company, which was forced to file for bankruptcy in 1992. 1998
