Choosing a flat mop depends on three factors: the width suited to your surface area, the type of attachment compatible with your existing mop heads, and the ergonomic handle suited to your users. Here are some guidelines for making an effective purchase.
What width should I choose for my flat broom?
The 40 cm width is the most versatile: it is suitable for standard spaces (offices, bedrooms, narrow corridors, restrooms) and accounts for 80% of professional uses. The 60 cm width speeds up the cleaning of open surfaces (dining rooms, entrances, lobbies).
For very large areas (gymnasiums, car parks, function rooms), the 80, 100 or 120 cm scissor broom becomes indispensable: its articulated system allows it to overcome obstacles without lifting the whole thing.
Tab, pocket or Velcro support: how to decide?
The tab-pocket holder (dual-function compatible) is the most universal because it accepts both tab-style and cotton pocket-style fringes. It is the default choice for a shared workshop.
The Speedy-type clip-on holder ensures quick attachment and allows for mechanical wringing without removing the mop head, ideal for high-volume protocols. The Velcro holder, finally, offers the fastest mop head change and is used exclusively with microfiber mop heads with a hook-and-loop backing.
The handle: an ally of ergonomics
A telescopic aluminum handle, adjustable from 140 to 160 cm, adapts to each operator's height and helps prevent musculoskeletal disorders of the back and shoulders. Choose handles with universal threads to ensure compatibility with other park sweepers.
