Nebulizer and mister: what's the difference?
Both terms refer to devices that project a disinfectant in the form of micro-droplets, but using different technologies. An electric nebulizer produces a mist through vibration or pressure, generating extremely fine particles (a few microns) that remain suspended in the air for a long time and cover the entire treated area. A high-pressure fogger, such as the Numatic NSU370, produces slightly larger droplets, particularly effective for rapid contact disinfection of surfaces. The choice between the two depends on the disinfection protocol implemented in your facility.
Ozone generator: chemical-free disinfection
The ozone generator offers a radically different disinfection solution: it produces ozone (O3), a naturally bactericidal, virucidal, and fungicidal gas, without the use of any liquid disinfectant. Particularly well-suited to enclosed spaces such as cold storage rooms, changing rooms, and rooms with persistent odors, it thoroughly eliminates viruses, bacteria, mold, and unpleasant smells. However, its use requires that the room be unoccupied during the treatment cycle and ventilated before re-occupancy.
How to use a professional disinfectant nebulizer?
The standard three-step procedure is as follows: first, clean the surfaces (the nebulizer complements cleaning, it does not replace it), then position the device in the center of the room, program it according to the volume to be treated, and leave the room during the cycle. After the disinfectant has had time to contact the room, ventilate it before reoccupying it. Some devices, such as the Seko ORDP1 and ORDP3 nebulizers, incorporate an automatic end-of-cycle system that ensures operator safety.
What volume can be treated with a nebulizer?
Treatment capacity depends on the power of the device and the disinfectant used. As a guideline: a 4L, 1200W nebulizer is suitable for standard-sized rooms (office, bedroom, dining room). The 10L backpack model allows you to treat several rooms on the go without refilling. The Seko Zephyr nebulizer, on the other hand, is designed for very large volumes up to 750 m³, ideal for warehouses, gymnasiums, exhibition halls, or public buildings.
Professional nebulizer: which sectors are affected?
Disinfectant fogging meets the needs of numerous professional sectors: cleaning and disinfection companies, hotels and tourist residences, catering and professional kitchens, healthcare facilities and nursing homes, nurseries and schools, food processing industries, and cold storage facilities. In all these contexts, fogging is integrated into a comprehensive hygiene protocol that complies with health requirements and the recommendations of health authorities.
